What are junior youth groups?
Junior youth groups are offered to young people aged 11-15.
They aim to develop a young person's twofold sense of purpose - to develop themselves intellectually, socially and spiritually and to contribute to the transformation of their community.
Junior youth are assisted to develop tools to help them achieve this, such as their powers of expression, strengthening their capacity to think critically and make positive decisions in their lives.
This is done through the study of a series of texts that contain simple, yet profound stories about the lives of young people all around the world.
You can register your junior youth here.
These are a few examples of the texts that are studied:
When we make an effort, and choose a noble goal, doors will open.

Service Projects
The groups also design and carry out service projects in their community. These projects help junior youth to develop the capacity to think about the needs of their community, consult with one another, and interact with others. Junior youth who have been involved in the programme have carried out projects such as:
-
Feeding the homeless
-
Litter picking
-
Organising family festivals for the community
*There is no cost for attending these groups*

Who guides the group?
Each group is guided by an older youth known as an “animator”. As a true friend and mentor, the animator of the group assists the members in the development of their talents and capacities. The animator ensures the space is an environment where young people can express their thoughts. They strive to establish a close relationship with the families of the junior youth to think about their ongoing development.
